"If you actually want to work with me personally and properly, you had better relate with the sangha...It is very important to get everyone working together. Individual trips become insignificant in the history of buddhism." -- The Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

We're very excited to be hosting three exciting events this November, centred around the Fourth Shambhala Congress. In the days leading up to the Congress, the Shambhala Vajrayana Sangha is invited to gather in Halifax to recieve the Gesar Trakpo Abhisheka from His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rinpoche on November 7th and 8th. During the Congress we will gather to celebrate the birth and long-life of The Sakyong, Jamgon Mipham Rinpoche. This will be the last opportunity to gather as a communtiy before The Sakyong enters retreat for his 48th year directly following these events. This event is open to all practitioners. The Shambhala Congress is part of the global governance of the Shambhala Mandala. It is a forum for practice, communication, and celebration that aims to engage the mandala as a whole with the central leadership. The Congress process begins with consultation in each Shambhala Centre, leads into the gathering of participants at the Congress itself, and then unfolds afterwards as the governing bodies of the mandala work on the issues raised in the discussions. Thus, it is an opportunity at many levels to explore major topics relevant to the whole mandala, ask difficult questions, and work together to chart the future of Shambhala.
