Gesar Trakpo Abhisheka
November 7 & 8, 2009 Pier 21
Halifax, NS On November 7th and 8th His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rinpoche will bestow the Gesar Trakpo Abhisheka on the Shambhala Vajra Sangha at the request of the Kongma Sakyong. Gesar Trakpo is the wrathful form of King Gesar of Ling, the manifestation of enlightened rulership whose energy cuts powerfully through the obstacles of the dark age. On Saturday November 7th His Eminence will give instruction in the practice and offer teachings on Gesar Trakpo. The following day, November 8th, he will bestow the Abhisheka. Attendance at the teachings on Saturday is required to attend the Abhisheka on Sunday. The Kongma Sakyong has supplicated His Eminence to offer this Abhisheka to the vajrayana practitioners of Shambhala, with the view that this would become a major protector practice for our mandala, particularly in the Don season each year before Shambhala Day. The Sakyong Wangmo has invited all tantrikas to attend, and particularly urges tantrikas who are members of the Dorje Kasung to make every effort to attend. This program is restricted to those who have received "pointing out" instruction in either the Ripa or Shambhala lineages. For Shambhalians, this program is restricted to graduates of Shambhala Vajrayana Seminary. If you are a Ripa Ladrang practitioner, the pre-requisite is that you are currently doing ngondro and pledge to complete it.
